Some lava has an olive color due to semi-precious crystals that break apart. The color of the lava usually varies between red, brown, black, red, tan, pink, metallic silver, and green. There are various factors that contribute to the type of lava that forms. While lava is still underground, it is referred to as “Magma”, when it reaches the ground it is referred to as “Lava”.
